2025 WASSCE Results Delay: WAEC New Release Date

The release of the 2025 WASSCE results has been delayed, according to the latest update from a Ghanaweb publication on the West African Examinations Council (WAEC).

Candidates across Ghana who sat for this year’s school examination continue to wait as the council remains silent on the official release date. Earlier this month, WAEC published the list of candidates suspected of examination malpractice and made result-checker vouchers available for sale. These steps typically signal that the council is preparing to release results, yet the expected timeline has not been met.

Projections published two weeks ago suggested that the 2025 WASSCE results would be released between 15 and 21 November. With the projected period almost over, WAEC has still not issued the results. A report referenced by Ghana Education News through GhanaWeb revealed that the delay is linked to WAEC’s revised procedure for verifying suspected examination irregularities.

The new process requires that all investigations be completed and final decisions taken before any results are published. According to the same update, WAEC is currently in the final stages of processing and uploading results to the official portal.

Although WAEC has not confirmed a release date, candidates should be aware that in recent years the council has published both BECE and WASSCE results during weekends or at unexpected hours. This means the 2025 WASSCE results could be released at any time between Monday and Saturday, though WAEC rarely releases results on Sundays.

Another piece of information on the 2025 WASSCE results delay seen by this portal is that the results will be released in the first week of December, 2025. This date may not be accurate. We expect the results to be released earlier than that.

For candidates who may face withheld or cancelled results—or those who do not achieve the required grades—further education will be delayed until the affected issues are resolved or the candidate re-sits the examination as a private candidate. The next Private WASSCE examination is scheduled for January–February 2026 and will mark the first series for the upcoming examination year.
