5700 customers affected due to cyber fraud violation- MTN Ghana

MTN Ghana has reported that about five thousand, seven hundred of their clients may have an effect by a current cyber fraud violation.
MTN verified what had happened in a press release presented on 28 April 2025, highlighting that despite the fact that its systems is still functional properly, a lawful enquiry is on going to identify the scope of the violation.
In accordance to MTN, recent signs depict that the clients that are affected, data may have been endangered. MTN again said it would brief clients personally showing feedback attempt. The company warranted it’s customers that the privacy, accessibility, sincerity, and of its systems is still leading to its functions.
MTN notified that it is efficiently pressing on with brilliant cyber fraud specialists and has put in important resources to hold and direct the issue.

Clients have been warned to be watchful by upgrade banking and mobile software or programs, setting powerful and secured passwords, warranting multifactor authentication, and prevent revealing personal information like PINs, Passwords, OTPs during phone calls, emails, other accounts or text messages.
The company stated that clients worried about likely or possible fraud may caution or alerts on their credit reports with vital credit bureaus as a measure to protect themselves.
