Nursing admissions open for 2026/2027, forms out online
The Ministry of Health officially opens nursing training admissions for the 2026/2027 academic year. All qualified and interested applicants can now buy their admission voucher and apply for admission. The Ministry of Health has also introduced new post-basic specialized nursing programs to help train additional health professionals for Ghana’s needs.
The admission portal opened for all potential applicants to apply.

The form costs 150 GHS. You can pay with mobile money. You must apply before June 5, 2026.
How to apply for the 2026/2027 nursing admissions
All interested applicants can now visit https://register.healthtraining.gov.gh/dashboard to apply. Applicants have been advised not to apply for admission on any other site except the official site.
The application fee for the nursing training college is GHS150.00, as announced by the Ministry of Health. The application portal will remain open until June 5th, 2026. All applicants who start the admission process must complete and send the admission along with all required documents on or before close of day on June 5, 2026.

The basic requirements for the nursing admissions for 2026/2027 are as follows.
- A good pass in the English language.
- A good pass in Mathematics.
- A good pass in Integrated Science.
- A good pass in Biology or Chemistry is also required
General science, Agriculture science, and Home Economics students with good passes are encouraged to apply. A good pass means the applicant must not have a grade worse than C5 in English Language, Mathematics, Integrated Science, Biology, and/or Chemistry.
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS FOR ALL NURSING PROGRAMMES
The programs for the 2026/2027 nursing admissions are as follows:
i. Registered General Nurse (RGN)
ii. Registered Midwifery (RM)
iii. Public Health Nursing (PHN)
iv. Registered Mental Nursing (RMN)
v. Registered Community Psychiatry Nursing (RCPN)

Ghana faces a dual challenge: the growing need for specialist nurses to provide quality healthcare delivery locally, particularly in managing non-communicable diseases (NCDs) such as heart diseases, diabetes, cancer, kidney failure, and others, which has called for the introduction of the government’s flagship program—the Ghana Medical Trust Fund (MahamaCares), as well as the rising migration of specialized health workers to other countries.
To strengthen domestic healthcare services in support of the Ghana Medical Trust Fund (MahamaCares) and support the Ghana Labour Exchange Programme, the Ministry of Health has scaled up and introduced new Post-Basic Specialised Nursing Programmes in the following areas:
- Critical Care Nursing
- Emergency Nursing
- Cardiology Nursing
- Nephrology Nursing
- Endocrinology Nursing
- Oncology Nursing

Requirements
- Applicants should be medically fit and not more than 40 years old.
- Passion for specialized area of nursing care and commitment to serve in Ghana’s health system
- Diploma in Registered General Nursing, Diploma in Midwifery, and Registered Mental Health Nursing.
- Completed one-year Mandatory Rotation/Internship/National Service
- Two (2) years’ work experience in an area of intAdvertisementerest (Public or Private Sector)
- You must possess a valid Personal Identification Number (PIN) from the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC).
Process:
- Applications should be processed and submitted through the web application platform, using this link https://register.healthtraining.gov.gh at a cost of GH¢150.00.
- Upon payment, applicants will receive a voucher containing a unique PIN and Serial Number.
- Applicants should provide a dedicated phone number and a valid personal e-mail address for all correspondence.

- Applicant must provide their residential address and Ghana Post Digital Address during the application process.
- Visit https://register.healthtraining.gov.gh, use the PIN and serial number to access the online application form. You will be required to upload scanned copies of your academic and professional certificates.
- The application form is accessible only with the provided PIN and serial number. Carefully follow the instructions and complete all relevant stages of the application process. Follow the step-by-step instructions provided on the portal to complete the online application. The PIN and Serial Number will also be required for tracking the status of your application.

- Applicants who meet the admission requirements will be invited to attend a competitive interview at the school of their choice.
