7 BECE candidates met their untimely death when they drowned in the river after the boat they were traveling in capsized in Northern Region.
The victims who are believed to be BECE 2021 candidates according to sources close to Ghanaeducation.org drowned while crossing the Malkpal River capsized in Saboba in the Northern Region.
The police intelligence report on the incident indicated victims were returning from their head teacher’s farm located in Saboba when the incident happened.
Thirty-one (31) students according to information available to this portal were in the boat at the time the sad event occurred.
The deceased were among about 31 students who were returning from the headmaster’s farm when the boat capsized.

A search team helping led to the retrieving of the seven bodies per the police update.

The bodies will be deposited at the Yendi Government Hospital. Police in Soboba has since commenced investigations into the matter. Meanwhile, the remaining three persons are yet to be found.
