Students who applied for admission should look out for the release of admissions results on Wednesday, January 8, 2025. All applicants for first-degree and postgraduate programmes will receive SMS notifications on the mobile numbers they provided during the application process.
Once the admissions decisions are released, students should log into the admission application portal to download their temporary admission letters and complete the necessary steps, including paying the required minimum fees and registering with their respective departments and programmes.
Students will also have to register for and compete for fair placement and allocation of traditional hall accommodation on campus. Applicants are advised not to pay any money to individuals or groups who promise to give accommodation or academic admission. All students are to note that there is no “protocol” at the University of Ghana when it comes to student accommodation allocation.
Applicants granted admission are also required to undergo all mandatory medical examinations. Failure to complete the medical examination and other specified requirements will result in forfeiture of admission to the University of Ghana.
Note for Medical School Applicants:
Prospective medical students should be prepared to take an entrance exam and participate in a brief interview as part of their admission process. The voice of Legon confirmed this with a post on X that read, “A list of shortlisted applicants for admission into the College of Health Sciences will soon be released for an interview and an entrance exam.
The above will be followed by university-level, departmental-level, and course-level orientations by the university for all freshmen. Students are advised to attend all these orientation programs to help them get familiarised with the rules, regulations, programs, and activities within the university community.
Lectures will start after these programs, and finally, the university will organise the 2025 Matriculation, which is expected to be held in late February or mid-March 2025.
