First Series 2025 WASSCE (PC) Starts Today

The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) started the maiden edition of the WASSCE (PC) Exam, dubbed the First Series, today, 24th January 2025. The examination is part of efforts by WAEC to help candidates write their resit exam early enough so that such students can access tertiary education early if they pass the examination.

While member states of WAEC, such as Nigeria, have always written the private WASSCE twice each year, Ghana is doing so for the first time. The examination will end on February 15th, 2025. Students who pass the exam and improve their overall WASSCE results can easily gain admission into public and private universities if such universities open their mid-year admission portals. They can also apply for admission alongside their counterparts who will pass the yet-to-be-administered 2025 WASSCE for school candidates.

While the examination is scheduled to start on the 24th of January, the Foods and Nutrition 3 (Practical) *Planning Session took place, and other practicals have already taken place according to the timetable available on the WAEC portal.
