Top 10 Private SHSs in Ashanti Region For Free SHS and School Placement

The government has approved ten (10) private SHSs in the Ashanti Region for 2025 Free SHS and School Placement. The schools are part of the 60 approved by the Ministry of Education for piloting the private schools inclusion in the Free SHS programme.

These schools were approved based on their high levels of facilities and academic performance at the WASSCE each year.

Ashanti Region Private SHSs: Key Insights for Parents and BECE Candidates

These approved schools are also the most popular schools in the Ashanti region. The schools are located in Kumasi Metro, Ejisu, Ejura, Adansi South, Kwabre East, Oforikrom, Suame, and Sekyere-Kumawu, giving candidates within the region multiple choices and locations for placement and self-placement options.

None of the approved private SHSs in the Ashanti region is a single-sex school. All the schools are also under the Free SHS policy as day schools. Where the schools have their own hostel facilities, parents who opt for the hostel service will have to foot the bills associated with it.

Programmes offered in the 10 Ashanti Region Private SHSs

The popular programmes offered across these schools include General Arts, Business, Home Economics, and General Science. Some schools also offer Agriculture and Technical programmes. The vast options available to learners mean that they have several options to choose from.

While Angel Educational Complex offers up to seven (7) programmes, three other schools offer 6 programmes, and another 4 offer 5 programmes, while two others also offer only four programmes.

The more programmes offered by a private SHS, the more students it is likely to admit during the school placement.

Parents and candidates who want to enroll in any of these schools should do their own research about the quality of tuition and the facilities.
