NSA reopens national service registration after Service Management Platform overhaul

The National Service Authority (NSA) has opened national service registration after the President John Dramani Mahama government directed for Technical and Forensic Audit into the registration system.

In mid this year, the Governing Board of the National Service Authority (NSA), following an emergency board meeting held on Friday, June 20, 2025, suspended the national service enrollment exercise for the 2025/2026 service year.

The decision also follows a directive, dated June 17, 2025, that called for the immediate suspension of the NSA’s controversial digital systems, including the widely used Metric App and the Central System Management Portal (CSMP), due to growing concerns over irregularities and corruption allegations.

A statement signed by the NSA Board Chairman, Emmanuel Kai Mintah, announced that all activities related to the national service enrolment process—posting, validation, and registration—have been put on hold.

Management staff, regional directors, district managers, and service personnel were directed to stop using the digital platforms and await further instructions.

“All payments, renewals, or engagements connected to these systems are to cease immediately,” the statement said.

But speaking at a press conference, the Director-General of the National Service Authority (NSA), Ruth Dela, said the national service registration will commence on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, and end on Wednesday, October 15, 2025.

She, however, said all previous registrations from June 2025 have been declared null and void, saying every prospective service personnel must re-register on the new platform.

The Ghana National Service Authority (NSA) Director assured that all genuine registrants from the June exercise that have been declared null and void will receive full refunds of their service fees.

To ensure a smooth process, the Authority official stated that detailed step-by-step guidelines for registration will be published on its new website, www.gnsa.gov.gh, beginning Tuesday, October 7, 2025.

She noted that all national service personnel are expected to report to their assigned institutions on Saturday, November 1, 2025, with the official start of service scheduled for Monday, November 3, 2025.
