GNAT GENERAL SECRETARY, THOMAS MUSAH TANKO’S PRESS RELEASE SCHEDULED FOR Z7TH DECEMBER,2021 IS MEANINGLESS
GNAT’s Dec 2021 Press Conference – matters arising from teachers’ quarters …
It has come to the notice of some teachers that the General Secretary of GNAT, the largest teacher union in GHANA will be speaking on the one teacher laptop issue.
For some of us, it is meaningless for him to waste his time and energy speaking on that issue. Did he consult any TEACHER regarding the procedure and procurement of the said laptops?
Did he consult us as Teachers before giving authorization to CAGD to deduct the said 509.45 on their salary? Now that the former education minister came out to clear himself and make all tea hers to know that the deal was about the selfish interest of the leadership of GNAT, NAGRAT, AND CCT GHANA, he is now scheduling to have a press release, it is needless.
Did he organize any press release to seek the consent of teachers?
Now is the press release about to retrieve our stolen money back to us or give us more unjustified stories???? This issue of the forceful deductions by CAGD without the teacher’s consent nor given the laptops to commerce deduction has tarnished his image as Tanko Musah and a northern Brother.
We have not been supplied with the laptops yet we are being deducted.
1. Has he thought of those going on retirement by the close of November, December, and early January 2022?
2. What about those that have just passed unto glory by the close of November and all those that would die without receiving the laptops?
3. Okay, what become the issue of those who have left the service to different departments by the close of November 2021 and now without receiving the laptop?
4. Why would teachers who are supposed to be the cream of society be treated that way by a colleague teacher for selfish and self-centered reasons?
This is thievery and at his earliest convenience, he should instruct the same CAGD to reverse the transaction during December 2021 salary inputting. Let those who have to pick and would pick give their mandate for such deductions.
