Accra, Ghana — There is significant relief for staff under the Ghana Education Service (GES) today as management has officially announced the approval for the payment of outstanding salary arrears. The outstanding arrears add up to 16 months.
In an official circular dated 20th April 2026, signed by the Ag. Deputy Director-General (MS), Prof. Smile Dzisi, the GES confirmed that the Ministry of Finance has granted financial clearance for the payment of salary arrears covering the period from 1st August 2024 to November 2025.
The Payment Schedule: The management of the GES has confirmed that the payment of these arrears will be disbursed in instalments by the Controller and Accountant General’s Department (CAGD).
