2021 BECE results: WAEC updates results checking portal ahead of results

2021 BECE results are expected to be released soon hence, the West African Examination  Council (WAEC) has taken proactive steps to prepare for the release by updating the results checking portal https://eresults.waecgh.org. This update was provided by a staff of WAEC to EducationWeb.com.gh.

The update is expected to help prevent the usual downtime recorded after the release of results each year. According to the report, WAEC will update the general public ahead of the release of the 2021 BECE results at the right time.

“The 2021 BECE results at the appropriate time will be released but I will urge students who sat for the examination to be calm, they are only to check their results at https://eresults.waecgh.org/,” the member of the Council entreated.

The release of the results of the 571,894 candidates who sat for the 2021 BECE and the later release of the school placements will offer the candidates an opportunity to access Free SHS (secondary education) in 2022.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) relating to the 2021 BECE results and School placements

When will the 2021 BECE results be released?

The results of the 2021 BECE has been projected to be released before the end of February 2022.

When will the Schools placements for 2021 BECE candidates be released?

The Computerized School Selection and Placement System. (CSSPS) the portal will be used to release the school placements of candidates who sat for the 2021 BECE. The placements are expected or projected to be released before the end of February 2022 to enable Junior High School candidates to report to school by March 2022.

What is the cut-off point for 2021 BECE?

As far as the aggregate scored by a candidate is concerned, there is no cut-off point for admission into SHS. However, there is a cut-off point for getting placed in a secondary school. Once a candidate obtained grade 9 in either English or Mathematics or Integrated Science, the chances of being placed in a secondary school become slimmer.

Can I change my school or program after I have been placed or enrolled in a school?

Yes and No: After you have been placed in a secondary school, you cannot change the programme or the school unless there are valid reasons.

Again, after you have enrolled in a secondary school, if the GES gives directives for students to be allowed to make a switch from one programme to another, then it will be allowed.

If this directive is not given, it will be difficult for the programme to be changed for students.

Finally, If a student who is not physically challenged is placed in a school meant for only those who are physically challenged, the change will be effected for the candidate if the right procedures are followed.
