Applicants who applied for undergraduate degree programmes at KNUST can now use the university’s official admissions platform to check their admission status and, where an offer has been made, proceed with the required admission steps.

KNUST’s official admissions portal is the platform designated for prospective students to track applications and receive admission offers.

How to Check KNUST Admission Status

Applicants should use the details associated with the application and follow the instructions displayed on the portal.

It is important for applicants to rely on KNUST’s official platforms when checking their admission status rather than unofficial websites or individuals claiming to have access to the admission list.

What Successful KNUST Applicants Should Do

Applicants who have been offered admission should not stop after seeing the admission offer.

KNUST’s official admissions guidance states that successful undergraduate applicants are required to log into the KNUST Admission Portal and confirm their admission by accepting the offer. They can then print their admission letter. (KNUST Helpdesk)

Applicants should carefully read the admission letter and take note of the programme, instructions and any deadlines stated by the university.

Those who receive an offer but fail to complete the required acceptance process within the specified period could face difficulties with their admission.

KNUST 2026/2027 Undergraduate Admission Process

KNUST announced the opening of applications for admission to undergraduate degree and related programmes for the 2026/2027 academic year on April 13, 2026.

The university’s announcement covered WASSCE, SSSCE, Advanced Level, Mature, ABCE, GBCE and IB applicants. It stated that applicants who already had their examination results and candidates who would write the 2026 WASSCE were eligible to apply.

For WASSCE and SSSCE applicants, the published requirements included credit passes in the three core subjects of English Language, Mathematics and Integrated Science, together with credit passes in three relevant elective subjects and an aggregate score of 24 or better in the relevant area of study. Programme-specific requirements also apply.

KNUST subsequently extended the application period for the 2026/2027 academic year to September 10, 2026, according to recent reports on the university’s admissions process.

Medical Applicants Have Additional Requirements

Applicants seeking admission into the School of Medical Sciences and School of Dentistry should pay particular attention to separate requirements.

KNUST has announced entrance examinations and interviews for applicants seeking admission into BSc Human Biology (Medicine) and Dentistry for the 2026/2027 academic year.

This means that an applicant’s general admission status should not be interpreted as replacing any additional examination or interview requirement attached to a particular programme.

Applicants Should Beware of Admission Fraud

Prospective students should be cautious about individuals who demand money in exchange for securing KNUST admission.

Admission-related activities should be completed through the university’s official systems. Applicants should also avoid sharing their account credentials, PINs or other sensitive application information with strangers.

The official KNUST admissions portal provides applicants with access to their application records and admission offers. ]

What Happens Next for Newly Admitted Students?

For applicants who have received offers, the immediate priority should be to log into the KNUST portal, confirm the admission and print the admission letter.

The admission letter should then be studied carefully because it contains important information that will guide the next stages of the student’s entry into the university.

Applicants who do not immediately find an admission offer should continue to monitor the official KNUST admissions platform for any further updates rather than relying on unofficial claims.

The 2026/2027 academic year is already reflected in KNUST’s official academic calendar, while the university continues to publish programme-specific admission information through its official channels.

For prospective students, the release of the undergraduate admissions marks an important transition from waiting for admission decisions to completing the formal steps required to begin university life at KNUST.
