Ghana Declares 2 Days as Public Holidays in January 2022
The government of Ghana has declared Monday, January 3rd, 2022, and Friday, January 7th, 2022 as Statutory Public Holidays. The press release that communicated the two days as holidays was signed by the Minister of Interior, Hon. Ambrose Dery on behalf of the government.
January 3rd was declared a holiday because 1st January 2022 which is supposed to be a holiday will fall on Saturday. Since it is supposed to be a public holiday, it will be observed on Monday, January 3rd, 2022.
7th January is a holiday observed by the country to commemorate Ghana’s Constitution Day as the nation celebrates the 1992 constitution.
