2022/2023 SHS Placement Out Next Week – DG GES

2022/2023 SHS placement out next week is the latest update from the Ghana Education Service to 2021 BECE graduates (School and Private candidates) ahead of the school placement release.

2022/2023 SHS placement for JHS graduates is expected to be out next week according to the Director-General of the Ghana Education Service. The Director-General of the GES, Professor Kwasi Opoku-Amankwah, told the Ghanaian Times over the phone that the service had already begun with the selection and placement processes, and that if all went well, the list would be released for students to access their schools.

Students will be placed in over 750 public Senior High Schools across the country by the Computerised School Placement System (CSPS) Secretariat.

Unless anything unexpected happens, the Ghana Education Service (GES) will reveal the placement results for Senior High Schools for the start of the 2022/23 academic year by the end of next week.

The West Africa Examination Council (WAEC) released the results of the 2022 Basic Education Certificate Examination on Monday, February 28 in Accra.

He did not provide the number of students who qualified for placement for the 2022/23 academic year, but he did say that the team was working on it, emphasizing that “what we are currently doing is looking at the attrition figures to come out with the exact number of students who qualified for placement.”

Prof.Opoku-Amankwa stated that the service was working within its timetable to ensure that students arrived at school on time.

He promised that all qualifying students will be placed so that they may attend SHS as part of the government’s Free Senior High School (FSHS) policy.

In a related development, a visit to the CSSPS portal where the candidate will be checking their school placement shows that the portal has been opened however, GES has not given visitors the option to check their school placements yet. Ghana Education News will keep an eye on the portal and update candidates and all stakeholders with new information.
