All is set for the release of the 2021/2022 school placement on 26th March 2022 however a total of 187,542 to do self-placement since they were not placed in any of their 6 school choices although they passes the qualified for placement.
In a press release by the Ministry of Education, the MoE indicated that out of 571892 registered candidates who sat for the 2021 BECE, 555353 qualified to be placed however, only 367,811 candidates were placed automatically.

The 2021/2022 BECE School Placement is to go live on Saturday However, in all, some 187,542 of the qualified candidates will have to use the Self Placement Module to get placed in a school.
This means 33.76% of those who qualified for placement would have to use the Self-placement Module to get placed.
A total of 16,539 did not meet the requirements for placement into any Secondary, Technical, or Vocational School.

Students who are given the option to use the self-placement module must be very careful in choosing their school, accommodation, and programme.
How BECE 2021 graduates can do Free SHS self-placement
Self-placement is the second window of opportunity for BECE graduates who were not automatically placed through the Computerised School Selection and Placement System.
To take advantage of the self-placement system within the Computerised School Selection and Placement System you must have missed the automatic placement, the system must give you that opportunity to do self-placement if not you cannot go through the process.
1. Visit the school placement portal https://cssps.gov.gh/
2. Go through the placement checker procedure and when told to do self-placement, the portal will redirect you to the self-placement portal.
4. On this page, select the region you want to school in and then your preferred school from the ones available.
4. Once you do that, click on the accommodation option and choose day or boarding.
5. Once you are through, click confirm, wait for the free SHS self-placement to be successful, and print out the placement sheets.
