Application for employment as an accounts clerk

 

I write to turn in my application for the account officer/clerk position advertised online. I have a solid accounting background at the WASSCE and Diploma level

In the past three years, I have worked as an accounts clerk with the XYZ company for two (2) years of experience in a similar role.

My work as an accounts clerk has offered me key and relevant experience which would make me fit into this new role. It enabled me to understand the pressure that comes with the role of providing timely and useful accounting information and data for decision-making by my superiors.

While carrying out these roles, I also performed administrative duties, created accounting work schedules, monitored and guided new staff to ensure the efficient running of the accounting office and duties.

Over the years, I have developed the ability to work under pressure while maintaining the accuracy of work done in the accounting office.  Furthermore, I have the ability to adapt and adjust to changes as they occur without significant downtime.

I am also conversant with MS Excel and accounting software packages such as Sage and Tally which I can use to process business transactions like accounts payable and receivable, disbursements, expense vouchers, and receipts among others.

In my previous role as an accounts clerk, I was in charge of keeping financial records updated, preparing basic relevant accounting reports, and bank reconciling statements on a month-by-month basis.
