Preview: Borussia Dortmund vs. Bayern Munich – prediction, team news, lineups
On Saturday night, Borussia Dortmund takes on Bayern Munich for the first time this season. Borussia Dortmund is aiming to win against Bayern Munich for the first time over the past few seasons.
Both teams are tied with 15 points after eight games, but Bayern is one spot ahead of their opponent in Der Klassiker because they have scored a lot more goals than their opponent.
Game preview
Even though they’ve lost two of their last three league games, Dortmund should still feel good about their game against Bayern, especially since they beat Sevilla 4-1 away in the Champions League in midweek.
Jude Bellingham, an England international who captained BVB in Seville, became the first teenager to score in three straight Champions League games. Raphael Guerreiro, Karim Adeyemi, and Julian Brandt also scored as Edin Terzic’s team bounced back from their disappointing 3-2 loss to FC Koln last weekend.
Given that their next opponents haven’t been playing very well lately, he may think it’s time for Dortmund to show in front of a loud Westfalenstadion crowd that they have what it takes to stay in the title race this season.
Leroy Sané, Jamal Musiala, Sadio Mané, and Thomas Müller all scored to show off the Bavarians’ impressive firepower.

The team led by Julian Nagelsmann followed this up with a 5-0 win over Viktoria Plzen of the Czech Republic on Tuesday night. This kept their 100% record in the Champions League so far this season and put them six points ahead of Barcelona in Group C.
But Bayern’s trip to Dortmund on Saturday could be their toughest test of the season so far.
It may be a better method to determine whether they’ve gotten over their four-game winless skid before the international break.
Muller and Joshua Kimmich, two veterans, tested positive for COVID-19 this week. This will restrict their roster depth, particularly in central midfield, where they have fewer players than other elite clubs.
Sane and Mane have been scoring like crazy, so Nagelsmann’s club can crush any opponent on their day. Der Klassiker may be the ideal game to get their season back on track.

Team Updates
Marius Wolf and Mats Hummels missed the trip to Seville because they had a cold.
But since Saturday’s game is so important, both players are likely to be on the field. Niklas Sule will be replaced by Mats Hummels in the middle of the defense.
Sule went from Bayern Munich to Dortmund in the summer and may not beat his former club.
Gregor Kobel returned to a match day squad on Wednesday after a month out with a damaged muscle.
He should be ready to replace Alexander Meyer between the posts.
Mateu Morey, Jamie Bynoe-Gittens, Mahmoud Dahoud, and club captain Marco Reus are all still out with injuries. Sebastien Haller, who has a testicular tumor, won’t be able to play for a while.
Muller and Kimmich both tested positive for COVID-19, which was a shock to the Bavarians.
Mane moved to the left wing last week, so Serge Gnabry could play a more central role. Nagelsmann could use a similar flexible system on Saturday, with Musiala playing in the middle of the field.
Bayern’s back four should be simple to choose without Lucas Hernandez, Bouna Sarr, and Kingsley Coman.
