An accident on the Winneba-Mankesim highway resulted in the deaths of eight people.
A passenger vehicle crashed into a tree when a tire exploded and the steering wheel stuck.
The Toyota Hiace passenger van, registration number GR 5861-21, was completely loaded.
The force of the incident was so intense that all the seats in the car were moved, and the occupants suffered varying degrees of injury.

The driver described what happened next.
“I loaded from Kasoa to Ajumako, and my steer stuck when a tire broke,” he said.

Eight of the 15 passengers are critically injured, including fractures in their upper and lower limbs.
The remainder were likewise injured to varying degrees.

DOI Adolf Ankomah Nuamah, the Apam Fire Commander, voiced concern over the high number of incidents documented at that location.
While advising drivers to drive cautiously, he has also asked the Highway Authority to implement speed reduction systems.
“There were 15 individuals in the automobile.” They were all hurt, but eight of them were seriously hurt. The motorist was overspeeding, according to the witnesses, but he also said his tire had ruptured, and he had a locked steer. “We’ll ask the authorities to put up some speed bumps there since there was an accident there just last week,” he said.
All patients are now being treated at Apam’s St Luke Catholic Hospital.
