Samuel Abu Jinapor, the Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, has said that he wants Vice President Alhaji Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia to be the presidential candidate for the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the upcoming 2024 elections.
He says that there is no one better than him to replace President Akuffo-Addo when his time in office is up.
“There is no better person to lead the NPP into the 2024 Elections than him because of his skills and hard work,” he said.

During the Vice President’s work trip to Northern Ghana, Mr. Jinapor, who is also a member of parliament for Damongo, said this at Kpalbe in the Savannah Region.
He promised the Vice President that he would back him 100% when it is time for the NPP to choose a new leader.

“When the time comes and His Excellency Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia decides to run, I will fully support him and work hard with other party members in the Savannah Region to show how hard he has worked and how smart he is,” he said
Dr. Bawumia is getting ready to run for president in the NPP primaries when the party opens nominations in a few months.
Alan Kyeremanten, who is the Minister of Trade and Industry, Kennedy Agyapong, who is the Member of Parliament for Assin Central, and other people will compete with him hard.
