Ashie stated during the programme that, apart from the government investing in Technical Vocational Education Training (TVET), there are several job opportunities for students if they complete their training in any of the technical or vocational programmes. He added that TVET schools are not for the so-called weak student, and challenged parents to make TVET schools and programmes part of their choices. The engineer added that the factories and the country’s industrialization drive all point to the fact that, in the near future, there will be more job opportunities in the country for persons who study TVET-related programmes. He added that candidates who successfully enrol for TVET get the chance to acquire enviable technical skills and undergo practical training, which ensures that while in school they can also take up jobs and make an income. According to him, the government has resourced TVET institutions in Ghana to ensure the tools and equipment needed to transfer the practical knowledge are available for effecting skills acquisition.
