VIDEO: Captain Smart Stopped From Shaking The Hands Of Asantehene

Captain Smart, a radio and television host, may be seen in his latest video bowing to the Asantehene from distance.

The Onua TV presenter was barred from approaching the Asantehene’s throne to shake his hands.

Many others are taken aback by the scene as they try to figure out why he was stopped from approaching him.

Most Ghanaians value a handshake and an audience with the Asantehene. This is why it is not surprising to see Captain Smart attempting to shake Asantehene’s hand.

In the most recent popular video, Captain Smart is shown being denied a handshake with Otumfuor Osei Tutu II.

The media star and his entourage were seen approaching the Asantehene to shake his hand.

Just as he and his colleagues were ready to approach the Asantehene’s throne and shake his hand, an older man dressed in traditional Kente cloth stopped them.

There was a brief discussion between the two, which is thought to have involved the guy teaching Captain Smart why he was not authorized to shake the Asantehene’s hand.

Many dignitaries were allowed, but Captain Smart was barred and only allowed a distant bow. He and his comrades bowed to the king and exited the scene.

The video, which was shot at the Akwasidae, is gaining traction as netizens interpret the scene and speculate on why he was denied the handshake.
