Students Hair Style Guidelines For SHS To Be Released Soon -GES
The Ghana Education Service is expected to outline specific students hair style guidelines for SHS soon which will ensure uniformity and a common standard for all schools.

These guidelines are expected to be futuristic to ensure issues such as the Rastafarian boys’ admission bruhaha do not occur in the future.
This was disclosed by the Minister of Education, Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum when he spoke on the admission challenges of the two Rastafarian boys in Achimota SHS with regards to their dreadlocked.
He made this known while commenting on the floor of parliament on Thursday, March 25, 2021,
According to him, “The Ghana Education Service will soon lay out specific guidelines for Heads of Schools on how to proceed in such situations in future,”
The Education Minister has been engaging stakeholders on the trending issue with the two boys to ensure a solution is found.
Ghanaians are generally divided on whether students should be admitted by the school or not. The father of one of the boys said, they relocated to Ghana during the Year of Return but the actions of Ghanaians mean they are not welcomed.
He intends to enlighten his brothers in the diaspora not to consider coming to settle in Ghana since the country is not ready to accommodate them.

The final decision on the fate of the two Rastafarian boys will be a test case for Ghana however the students hair style guidelines for SHS when released will serve as a common standard for all schools.
