WAEC Honours 2022 Best WASSCE Candidates – See Full List Of Winners

The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) on Thursday, June 22, 2023, honoured Distinction Award winners of the 2022 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) for School Candidates.

The Distinction Awards were instituted by the WAEC Endowment Fund. One of the objects of the Fund is the provision of prizes for awards to candidates who distinguish themselves in the Council’s national and international examinations. The Ceremony is specially designed to publicly acknowledge the exceptional performance of candidates in the WASSCE for School Candidates.

Alex Opoku Manu is the overall best candidate for the 2022 WASSCE. He is a product of St. James Seminary. He had the best grade and score in the 2022 WASSCE. He was given ¢30,000 and a laptop from Zenith Bank. He also received a desktop computer. WAEC also gave him ¢1,200 dollars.

Benjamin Eyram Nana Kwame is the second best 2022 WASSCE candidate. He is also a product of St. James Seminary SHS. He was given $900 from WAEC endowment fund. He also received a cheque of 20,000 from sponsors. He received a laptop and other items from sponsors.

Abena Afriyie Poku from the Holy Child School emerged the third best 2022 WASSCE candidate. She received $750 from the WAEC endowment fund. She also received a desktop computer from sponsors. Aside this, she received ¢15,000 and a laptop from sponsors.

Alex Opoku Manu also emerged as the best Science candidate. He received an amount of $400 from WAEC. The school was also presented with a plaque. He also received ¢10,000 from sponsors and a brand new laptop.

Mubarak Illiasu Danaa emerged the best General Arts candidate in the 2022 WASSCE. He was a student at TI Ahmadiya SHS in Kumasi. He received an amount of $400 from WAEC. The school was also presented with a plaque. He also received ¢10,000 from sponsors and a brand new laptop.

Ato Kwamena Quansah emerged the best Business Student in the 2022 WASSCE. He is a product of Legion Presec. The school was also presented with a plaque. He also received ¢10,000 from sponsors and a brand new laptop.

Ewurasi Adobea is the best Home Economics candidate. She is a product of Wesley Girls SHS.

For the 2021 examination, Kwame Asante Brako, a former student of the Presbyterian Boys’ Senior High School took the Overall Best Candidate and alsoBest Candidate in the General Science Programme. Kwaku Ohene-Amoani, Ransford Nana Agyei Korang, both from St. James Seminary Senior High School placed second and third respectively. Ohene-Amoani is studying Medicine at KNUST, while Ransford is studying Pharmacy at KNUST.
