FIFA Women’s World Cup Final: Two Battles The England National Team Must Win To Beat Spain

The 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup final will be held in Sydney on Sunday 20th August 2023 between England and Spain. This Women’s world cup final will be an interesting encounter as both teams are a joy to watch.

The England National Women’s team have been absolutely great in this tournament and had a very tough game against Nigeria in the round of 16.

After this scare from Nigeria in the round of 16. they had a pretty great game against Columbia and Australia.

The final against Spain will be a tough one as England will chase more of the ball as Spain will hold more of the possession which will wear off the England players. It will be an interesting match tomorrow as both teams will definitely show their qualities on the pitch.

For England to win this final against Spain, they need to win these two battles on the pitch;

1. Frustrating Jennifer Hermoso

In as much as this England Women’s team have an extremely strong back three, they should be on the look out for Jennifer Hermoso. Jennifer is Spain’s all  time record goal scorer who is very dynamic, can drop deep to the midfield and also play the offensive role.

Her role as a forward is vital as she usually drag defenders out of their position in order to create space for her team.

The England National team should be able to contain and frustrate Jennifer Hermoso. There should be a great communication between the defenders and the midfielders of the England National team.

With the sharpness of Jennifer Hermoso, Millie Bright should be up to task and make sure Jennifer gets an awful game.

2. Containing and Dominating the flanks
