2023 School Selection: Category ‘A’ Girls Schools In The Ashanti Region

There are six category ‘A’ schools in the Ashanti region. Out of this number, two are all-female(girls) schools. In today’s article, we will be looking at the two category ‘A’ Girls SHS in the Ashanti region.

1. St. Louis Senior High School

St. Louis Senior High School is an all-female school located at Oduom, a suburb of Kumasi in the Ashanti Region.

The St. Louis Senior High School is a first-class academic centre of excellence. Our Campus is located at a very ideal place inside the city of Kumasi near KNUST

The School is decorated with a wide range of trees, long stretches of well-cut lawns and very conspicuous flora prettification, our environment provides the right atmosphere for the holistic development of students

St. Louis Senior High School was opened in 1952, with an initial group of 12 girls.

2. Yaa Asantewaa Girls’ Senior High School

Yaa Asantewaa Girls’ Senior High School is an all-female Senior High School that was established in 1951 by Ghana’s first President Dr. Kwame Nkrumah. The school was founded in 1960 with funds from the Ghana Education Trust. Yaa Asantewaa is named after the Queen mother of Ejisu Yaa Asantewaa who led a war against the British Colonialists.

The school has recorded consistently excellent results, and we are not just complacent with the status quo. For almost half a century, the school has turned out thousands of educated and well formed women who are in responsible positions in government, administration and business circles.

The school is located in a suburb called Tanoso in the Atwima Mponua District in Kumasi – Ashanti Region.
