The Ghana National Council of Private Schools (GNACOPS) has disclosed it will roll out stakeholders meeting on April 22, 2021, to discuss Private schools teachers licensing. The top issue to be discussed will be the private school teachers licensing. (GNACOPS) expects all proprietors, Headteachers, and Administrators to be represented at this meeting.

The NTC a year ago indicated it was in the process of stopping all unlicensed private school teachers from teaching.
In an interview granted by the Executive Secretary of NTC, Addai Poku, and monitored by Ghanaeducation.org, the NTC said it was in talks with private schools to remove all teachers who are not qualified to teach from the education sector.
“It will soon be impossible for private schools to employ teachers who have not written the compulsory licensure exams”, Christian Poku disclosed.

The GNACOPS will on Thursday, April 22, 2021, meet stakeholders to discuss the way forward and outline a clear road map as to how private school teachers can become professionals and meet the basic requirements of the NTC to practice.
Top issues to be discussed at the meeting include
1. The distribution of laptops to private school teachers.
2. School leadership programme
3. Education Regulatory Bodies Act
4. SBC/CCP training
5. Private school teachers licensing.
