Adwoa Safo Begs Akuffo Addo, NPP For Forgiveness(Video)

The member of Parliament for Dome-Kwabenya constituency, Sarah Adwoa Safo, has render an apology to President Akuffo Addo and the leadership of the NPP for her prolonged absence from parliament.

The law maker offered an apology on Thursday to NPP and its members, highlighting on the personal challenges she and her family faced during that period.

Adwoa Safo acknowledged that her absence was unintentional and expressed deep remorse for any inconvenience it may have caused.

Adwoa Safo also asked for forgiveness from the Majority Caucus, her party’s regional as well as constituency executives.

“I take this opportunity in the name of God to beg you all,” she said in Twi in a video broadcast posted on Facebook on Thursday, September 14.

“My regional executives, my constituency executives led by Chairman Bonsu, the headquarters of the New Patriotic Party, the General Secretary and the National Chairman and your executives, I beg you all.

Supporters and sympathisers who love the party and love me and had great confidence in my constituency, I beg you all. Whatever has happened forgive me my sins.”

But I know [God] has opened the way,” she told some party supporters on Wednesday, June 14, 2023.

“He has paved a new way through you.

“So, all I am saying is that if God willing the leadership of the party opens nominations for parliamentary primaries, as you are behind me, I will contest again. No baga waya,” she said.

It could be recalled Sarah Adwoa Safo came under fire over her long absence from parliamentary and ministerial duties following an extended leave of absence.

Her conduct was discuss on the floor of Parliament which left the house and party divided.

In July last year, she was sacked by President Akufo-Addo as Gender Minister. However, on November 11, 2022, Adwoa Safo officially resumed her parliamentary duties following her return from the US.
