Forget About Black Stars, Coach Kwesi Appiah Secures First Victory With Sudan
Former Black Stars head coach, James Kwesi Appiah, celebrated his first victory as the head coach of Sudan when they secured a win over Chad on Tuesday. Ghana Black Stars, on the other hand failed to win theirs against USA.
Sudan had been facing difficulties in recent matches, enduring a four-game winless streak. However, they managed to clinch a 1-0 victory over Chad at the King Fahd Stadium in Saudi Arabia.
Coach Kwesi Appiah Secures First Victory With Sudan
Chad found the decisive goal in the 30th minute, marking a significant win for Appiah’s team following a 1-1 draw in his debut match against Tanzania.

Sudan has set its sights on qualifying for the 2026 World Cup, with crucial qualifiers against Togo and DR Congo scheduled for the next month.
Regrettably, they fell short of qualification for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, which is slated to commence in January 2024 in Ivory Coast

Coach Kwesi Appiah, who is 63 years will lead the Sudan National Team for the next three years.
Akwasi Appiah served as the assistant Asante Kotoko Coach 1992 to 1995. He was then promoted to serve as the head coach of the club from 1995 to 1996 He served as a coach as part of the technical team of Fred Osam-Duodu when he served as Head coach of the Ghana national team from 2000 to 2001.
He has been a manager of the Sudanese club Al Khartoum in December 2014. It could be recalled that during his first season, he led the team to a fourth place finish and qualification to the Confederation Cup. The following season, he led the club in attaining the highest points tally per season in the club’s history, 65 points, however they did not qualify for the CAF Confederation Cup.
