Akosombo Dam Spillage is a man-made disaster – Honorable Helen speaks the truth

Akosombo Dam Spillage is a man-made disaster – Honorable Helen speaks the truth

When issues like this happen, we need to put aside our party colors and affiliations and speak the truth about the matter. Ghanaians are in critical condition following the Akosombo Dam Spillage. This is now a national disaster following the news that about 6 regions in Ghana have been affected by this terrible disaster. Speaking on the matter on TV3, the member of Parliament for the good people of Krachi West made it clear that, the Akosombo dam spillage is a man-made disaster. The words of Honorable Helen Adwoa Ntoso were a result of the comments from some leaders, members, and executives of the New Patriotic Party NPP claiming that what is happening currently has nothing to do with the government but is a natural disaster that Ghanaians are suffering.

Currently speaking, over 1000 persons have been displaced from their natural homes as a result of the Akosombo dam Spillage. They have been stranded at unknown arrears receiving relief items from Government officials, organizations, and individual philanthropists. More people are needed to put their hands on desks to help those who have been affected by the Akosombo Dam Spillage. The government alone cannot do all as the issue has escalated beyond control.

TV3 to be sued for False Publication about Education Minister

However, the member of Parliament for Krachi West Constituency sets the records straight on the fact that people or Ghanaians should not attribute the Akosombo dam spillage to a natural disaster but rather it is a clear example of a man-made disaster.

Speaking further, Honorable Helen Adwoa Ntoso said that, it is the negligence of some people to not perform their responsibilities that has led to the crisis that most Ghanaians are currently suffering from. She made it clear that, when it was time for the right thing to be done, those in charge did not do what was expected. Now that the volume of the water has exceeded its limits, more water has been spilled beyond its limits and trouble everywhere in Ghana.

” How do you call this a natural disaster? Akosombo Dam spillage is a man-made disaster and not a natural disaster. When there is a flood associated with normal rainfall, then we can say it is a natural disaster. But for someone to refuse to do his or her work which later leads to havoc and trouble, then it is not a natural disaster, but a man-made disaster. My people are dying and the director of NADMO is not aware of the terrible situation in my constituency”. – Honorable Helen Adwoa Ntoso speaks during an inter on TV3 Media General
