Fix these 4 issues before we strike again -Teachers to GES

Teachers employed by the Ghana Education Service (GES) have outlined four issues that they want the GES to address now. Per the information sighted by Ghana Education News on social media, the failure of the GES to proactively fix these issues will leave teachers with no option but to strike again after COLA issues have been resolved.
The write-up indicates that the GES should fix the following problems facing teachers immediately before another strike comes off after COLA.
1. ( GES) has completely failed to upgrade teachers who have done their first degree for 3 years now. They keep giving fake hopes and assurances every month. Enough of the deception..
2. Failed to provide textbooks for the new curriculum for 3 years now.
3. Failed to distribute TM1 laptops to teachers after deducting them for a year now. ( 80%) of JHS teachers in Tamale metro have not received the laptops.
4. Failed to promote lower ranks.
All these must be addressed immediately before another strike takes off.
Teachers seem to want to get all the challenges that confront the profession and their work dealt with now, and the warning signs being given need to be taken seriously by those in leadership to help avert any new strike action soon after the demands of teachers with regard to the COLA are met.
In a related development, the leadership of the four pre-tertiary teacher unions, trade unions, and government representatives will be meeting on Tuesday, 12th July to deal with the ongoing industrial action and COLA which commenced on 4th July 2022.
President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has appealed to striking teachers to return to the classroom while negotiations continue with the government.
The President mentioned that teachers should consider the pending BECE that must be written by third-year students in Junior High Schools.
However, the teacher unions will only take a decision after their pending negotiation meeting on 12th July 2022.
