Ghana is celebrating Afua Asantewaa for wining NOTHING – BongoIdeas

Albert Nat Hyde, A.K.A. BongoIdeas, argued about the possible Guinness World Record disqualification of Afua and on February 17, 2024, indicated that Ghana was celebrating Afua Asantewaa for winning nothing. According to him, although Afua Asantewaa provided evidence of her sing-a-Thon to GWR and also paid $750 for express review service, the absence of news on whether she had broken the current rock meant her attempt has been a failure.

“8 weeks after submitting her attempt to GWR and paying $750, Afua Asantewaa has yet to hear from them. Ideally, if you’ve not received a confirmation by now, it means  failure!” Basically, her only record now is being a celebrity who’s being celebrated nationwide for winning nothing! BongoIdeas stated this in his February 17th tweet.

Following the news emanating from the Guinness World Record indicating the disqualification of Afua Asantewaa’s BongoIdeas, BongoIdeas took to his Twitter account once again to indicate that footballers are celebrated for winning trophies, athletes are celebrated for winning races, and musicians are celebrated for topping charts. However, Ghana has Afua Asantewaa, the first celebrity who was celebrated for winning NOTHING!.

Prior to the Guinness World Record attempt by Afua Asantewaa, BongoIdeas indicated that her attempt was a failure because, per his analysis, Afua had broken several rules that were to be adhered to by anyone attempting to break or set such a record.

Among the rules she broke per his observation were…

  1. She just murmured to most of the songs and did not actually sing them.
  2. She repeated several songs in the space of 4 hours, e.g., Freedom
  3. She performed most of the songs for more than 2 minutes.
  4. She took more breaks than expected.
  5. She, at most times, failed to sing continuously for 30+ seconds without a pause.
  6. Most of the songs performed are not recognised by @GWR.
  7. She was not supposed to jam, and she did!

The above observations and predictions by BongoIdeas have vindicated him and proven that his criticisms are often so real that people do not want to accept the bitter truth he puts out.
