The Ghana Teacher Licensure Examination script remarking to be undertaken for candidates who are not satisfied with the released results will be done at the cost of GHS600.00 per candidate.

GTLE remarking refunds

Teachers who pass the GTLE remarking to get refunds is a piece of good news for many candidates.

The GTLE remarking to be undertaken for candidates who are not satisfied with the released results will be done at the cost of GHS600.00 per candidate. Candidates who pass the exam after the remarking will have their money paid for the remarking refunded to them.

This was disclosed by the Teacher Trainees Association of Ghana (TTAG) in an interview granted to the media on Sunday.

The (TTAG) statement follows the announcement by the National Teaching Council (NTC) that all candidates who sat for the May 2021 teacher licensure examination but failed can request the NTC to remark their scripts.

The second window of opportunity is being granted to candidates to challenge the results of the examination.

“Any candidate who wishes to apply for remarking will pay Gh¢600 and if you pass after the remarking of your teacher licensure examination script, your money will be refunded,” the Teacher Trainees Association of Ghana (TTAG) stated.

The decision by the National Teaching Council (NTC) was first requested by dissatisfied teachers who were told they had failed the examination but felt they were failed intentionally by the council.

Reacting to the allegation, the (NTC) Registrar, Dr. Christian Addai Poku disclosed that the council is not interested in failing candidates who sat for the licensure examination (GTLE).

“Majority of the trained teachers who sat for the examination were resit students and that their preparation towards the Ghana teacher licensure examination (GTLE) was inadequate,” the NTC official told TTAG on Thursday.

Future examinations will not have their related statistics on candidates who passed and failed announced. This according to Dr. Addai Poku is to ensure local media does not concentrate on the failure of candidates in their reporting on the test.

“The media always report the failure of graduate teachers who sat for the licensure examination, they don’t comment on the positive side, so this year NTC will not publish the GTLE results statistics,” the Council’s Registrar noted.

How to apply for teacher licensure examination script remarking

The procedure candidates can go through to apply for teacher licensure examination script remarking has been outlined by the NTC.
