GES cautions parents, teachers against encouraging WASSCE malpractice

Ghana Education News | GES cautions parents, teachers against encouraging malpractice in WASSCE

Director-General of the Ghana Education Service (GES), Professor Kwasi Opoku-Amankwa warned students, parents, and instructors to refrain from encouraging examination misconduct in the ongoing West Africa Senior School Certificate Examination. The examination is now taking place (WASSCE).

He explicitly urged parents and instructors not to encourage their children and pupils to engage in this activity, but rather to allow them to establish their value in the tests, as he had previously done.

In an interview with the media, Professor Opoku-Amankwa offered the warning about the WASSCE and forthcoming Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE), academics, and human resource concerns.

In a related development, Africa Education Watch blew an alarm on examination malpractice in WASSCE 2021 indicating that the Food and Nutrition Paper 3 had been leaked. WAEC debunked the allegation and called it false while the Ministry of Education decided to set up a committee to investigate the claims made.
