UNESCO World Heritage Young Professionals Forum 2024

Applications are presently being accepted from adequately qualified persons to participate in the UNESCO World Heritage Young Professionals Forum.

This will provide participants with local insights into heritage management based on the host country’s experience and site visits to World Heritage locations.

The World Heritage Young Professionals Forum is one of the World Heritage Education Programme’s flagship activities, designed to promote intercultural learning and exchange by bringing together young people and heritage experts from around the world to discover new roles in heritage conservation.

  • Applicants must be aged between 23 and 32.
  • Experienced in one of the following fields: World heritage, conservation, archaeology, architecture, urban planning and regeneration, restoration, art history, tourism, climate change, and digital technology.
  • Motivated and devoted to implementing the Forum’s objectives in their own countries.
  • Committed to increasing community engagement in the administration of World Heritage assets.
  • Available for the duration of the Forum.
  • Proficient in English, as the Forum will be held exclusively in English. In addition to general eligibility, the following factors will be considered for selecting participants:
  • A balanced geographical representation
  • Gender equality.
  • Diverse professional backgrounds
  • Ability to share acquired experience in the country or institution of origin
  • Knowledge and experience with management procedures for World Heritage sites.
