NTC adjudges Fuseina Fuseini as Most Outstanding Teacher at 2024 GTP
Madam Fuseina Fuseini, a teacher at Madina SDA Basic School in the Greater Accra Region has been crowned the country’s Most Outstanding Teacher at the 2024 Ghana Teacher Prize awards by the National Teaching Council.
This year’s Ghana Teacher Prize was on the theme “Valuing Teacher Voices: Towards a New Social Contract for Education” underscores the importance of teacher input in shaping educational policies and practices.”
Speaking to the media on her achievement, Madam Fuseina Fuseini said “I want to encourage all teachers across the country to also put in their best by adopting innovative ways of improving teaching and learning outcomes,”
The Minister of Education, Honourable Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum on his part appreciating the contribution of teachers to national development assured them of addressing their concerns over conditions of service.
“Tier 2 issues are being thoroughly discussed and it will be resolved soon. The welfare of the teacher is dear to the government and efforts are being done to improve it,” the Education Minister told stakeholders at the ceremony.
In a social media post sighted by GhanaEducation.org, he also said “We are committed to listening to our educators, ensuring their voices are heard, and creating a stronger, more inclusive education system that supports both students and teachers alike.
The 2024 edition of the Ghana Teacher Prize (GTP) award, which coincides with World Teachers Day was held on October 5, 2024, at the prestigious Great Hall of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology.
