This is damning – Ablakwa on CHRAJ report on National Cathedral

The MP expressed surprise at the CHRAJ findings, which were made public on Monday, November 25, 2025. The report revealed that allegations against Rev. Kusi Boateng, including the GH¢2.6 million payment to JNS Talent Centre Limited and claims of double passports, were unfounded.

Reacting to the report on 3FM’s Hot Issues, Hon. Ablakwa described the findings as “damning,” alleging that they confirmed offenses and irregularities in the handling of the project. “To have a project done in the name of the Almighty, superintended by reverend ministers, and produce this outcome is very damning,” Ablakwa stated. He further accused those involved of engaging in a “trade, loot, and share scheme.”

The CHRAJ report confirmed that public funds were used for the project and recommended further investigation and potential prosecution of the National Cathedral Board of Trustees. It found that the $312,394,049.53 contract awarded to Ribade Company Ltd. violated the Public Procurement Act (Act 663), rendering it illegal.

The report warned of potential international embarrassment due to these procurement breaches and called for strict adherence to the law in future dealings.
