A lady was sacked for making too much revenue for govt- Sam George
Member of Parliament for Ningo-Prampram, Hon. Sam George, has disclosed that a lady who worked as an axle load revenue collector was dismissed from her position in November 2024 for generating too much revenue for the Republic of Ghana. Available facts suggest that others were indirectly engaged in corrupt practices that enriched them at the expense of the nation. Since she was unwilling to partake in such activities, her superiors deemed it necessary to terminate her contract.
Speaking on TV, the MP stated that the lady took over at a time when her predecessors were generating a maximum of GHS 600,000 a month. However, after she assumed the role, her station began generating between GHS 2 million and GHS 4 million per month—a performance that ultimately led to her dismissal.
“A woman came to me yesterday with evidence, and my heart broke. I told her I would speak about it today. She works at an axle weight (load) station located midway in the country—not at a start or endpoint. In November this year, she was sacked and told to go home because they could not work with her.”
“Do you know why?” the MP quizzed, paused, and then revealed shocking details.
According to him, in 2023, under the management of David Kwashie, the axle weight station generated the following revenues:
- January: GHS 235,266
- February: GHS 175,005
- March: GHS 323,214
- December: GHS 608,159
In 2024, Katako Castro took over management:
- January: GHS 365,697
- February: GHS 498,808
- March 1–12: GHS 351,256
