Adwoa Sarfo reverses dismissal of school feeding boss, says action was an administrative error

Adwoa Sarfo reverses dismissal of school feeding boss, says the action was an administrative error. Per the new information from the Minister of Gender, Hon Adwoa Sarfo, Mrs Gertrude Quashigah, the former and current National Coordinator for Ghana School feeding Programme has been reinstated to her previous post to continue her job.
“This is to inform you of my decision to withdraw my earlier letter dated May 18, 2021, I wish to state that my earlier letter was a result of administrative error” the Minister of Gender, Children and Social Protection stated.
The Africa Education Watch following the dismissal had called on the minister to take steps to investigate the school feeding office thoroughly and bring to book all who have done any wrong
The Executive Director of the Africa Education Watch, Mr Kofi Asare made this know via a post on social media.
“We needed an investigation and possible prosecution of culpable staff and caterers to send a strong message that money meant for feeding children cannot be embezzled this way without consequences,” Mr Asare said.
The Education economist said the sacking of the former National Coordinator is not enough. He was if of the view that this action alone would not help deal with the corruption happening at the School Feeding Programme office.
He lamented that there are “caterers who received cash for cooking for non-existing schools, and MCEs who received ezwitch payments when they had no contracts with the Ghana School Feeding Programme.”
However, with the turn of events, the next line of the minister is not known. The administrative errors which led to her dismissal of Mrs Gertrude Quashigah only for her to be reinstated barely 72 hours after remains a puzzle that needs to be demystified.
