The 2022 BECE results will be released by WAEC and when that happens, the bad effects of failing 2022 BECE will become a reality for many. For now, everything feels and seems normal, but wait until the results and the school placements are out.
Bad effects of failing 2022 BECE
There are several Bad effects and troubles that come with failing 2022 BECE. Let us look at some of these and what you can do should they happen.
#1. Students who fail the exam or obtain bad grades will become sad and very stressed. At night, having a sound sleep will become very scarce, and you will begin to worry about what to do. This is where some students start looking for result upgrading syndicates. When the results are released, do well to check and do not worry for a long time over the outcome. Parents and guardians will need to encourage and inspire their children even if they obtain poor grades. This is what many candidates need when results are out, and not to be insulted and cased with all manner of unprintable words. You have the option to go for remarking as well.
#2. When a student obtains a bad result, such as scoring 9 in either Mathematics or Integrated Science, he or she would not be able to get placed in any publish Senior High School. However, there are actions that can be taken. These include
a. The candidate being registered for the next BECE as a private candidate to re-sit the failed subjects.
b. Parents may look for admission for the candidate in a private SHS near home. Such a student should not go for boarding so that his or her academic progression in the private school can be monitored from home.
#3. Poor grades and, sometimes, very good grades, but poorly selected schools can bring about bad experiences for such candidates. Usually, if you are not placed in a school you chose, you may either be given a second window of opportunity called the self placement option or module where you go online and choose a school, programme and accommodation from available schools uploaded onto the portal. When a candidate is not placed but has this option, do not delay in taking it because, other candidates will end up choose all the best schools and programmes the further you delay.
#4. Fail the BECE by obtaining grade 9 in Mathematics or Integrated Science will mean that often you will have to re-sit these papers. This option will delay your entering of the second cycle institution by at least one year. Other options for candidates who have very low academic strength is for them to learn a vocation as apprentice instead of worrying themselves to re-sit and pass these papers. Education is the key but some can become successful without all the education. Do not follow the crowd, learn a vocation if you can and you will be glad you did.
