All About The Education News Consult Special Preparatory Monthly Exam For Basic 8 Learners Towards the 2026 BECE

The monthly examination is targeted at parents with learners in Basic 8 and 7 who intend to sit the 2026 BECE in June next year.

What are the subjects to be covered?

The examination will cover only the core subjects: English Language, Social Studies, Mathematics, and Integrated Science.

Which months will the examination be administered to candidates or students?

The examination will start in May 2025 and will be written in May, June, July, August, and September 2025.

What areas of the curriculum will the Education News Consult’s Special Preparatory Monthly Exam for Basic 8 and 7 learners cover?

The monthly test will cover only Basic 7 and 8 topics. This will be spread over the 5-month period. For each mock examination, 30% of the key areas to be examined in section B will be provided ahead of the test for revision purposes.

Where will the examination take place?

The Basic 8 Special Preparatory Monthly Exam will take place in all homes where a learner is registered for the examination. It will follow our BECE Home Mock system, where we have administered mocks to candidates across the country since 2022.

What is the cost of registration and monthly examination fees?

The one-time registration fee is GHS100.00, and the monthly fee for the four subjects is GHS100 per month.

• The examination service covers soft copies of the papers, marking, grading, the examiners’ report, and copies of the marking schemes for each month the student is enrolled.
• Once the mock examination papers are marked, all marked scripts will be sent to parents.
• The results of the examination will be posted online, and parents will use their phone numbers to check the results.
• This is the first-ever preparatory exam series for Basic 8 and 7 learners, and it will help you get more reliable academic strengths and weaknesses of your ward, which you can compare with what is coming from his or her school for decision-making.

On which days will the examination take place, and what is the timetable?

The exam will take place once a month and will last only two days. The exam will always take place on specific Saturdays and Sundays. Two subjects will be written on each day.

The timetable is as follows:

Saturdays 10:00 am to 12:00 pm – Social Studies 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm – Computing

Sundays 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm – Science 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm – English Language

The monthly examination dates are as follows: May – 24th and 25th June – 28th and 29th July – 26th and 27th August – 23rd and 24th September – 27th and 28th
