Bawumia Suspends Campaign; Here’s Why
Vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia’s campaign team has announced the suspension of campaign activities. According to the team, the vice president would use the period to visit various centers in the ongoing voters registration exercise.
“Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia will use the campaign break to visit selected E.C. Registration centers and encourage all party faithful to focus on mobilizing eligible persons to register for their voter’s ID card,” the release signed by Spokesperson Dr Gideon Boako said.
“The campaign entreats all party members to take note and work hard to achieve each constituency’s registration target.” a statement released on Saturday, 23rd September, 2023.
For the past few weeks, the vice president has been campaigning towards the November 4 internal elections. He is among the four aspirants going for the flag bearer position of the New Patriotic Party. He is also one of the favorite to win.
The 2023 Voters Registration Exercise is ongoing. This registration is for persons who have just attained 18 years and for persons who are above 18 years but have no Voters ID Card.
The Deadline for the 2023 Voters Registration Exercise is Monday, 2nd May, 2023. The Voters Registration Exercise is being conducted at all 268 district offices across the nation.

The Electoral Commission added that persons who do not have Ghana Card or a valid passport should present two persons who have voters register to guarantee for the.
“Eligible applicants who do not possess any of the identification documents listed above are required to present two (2) persons who are already registered voters to guarantee their registration.”

(foreigners) and persons who are not 18 years and above (minors) to attempt to

The electoral commission encourages all eligible applicants to register and vote. In the upcoming district level elections.
