Brokenness – A poem scribbled by Edem Fodeka
BROKENNESS
A poem inspired by Abena Achiamaa Agyemang-Gyamfi
The head lights the being
Paving way to thinking
Thinking uprightly
If our bulbs are dim
Our lives dim
Breaking the cover of our being
Darkness’s marriage to light
Is the talk of the town
Many mouths dine with words
At its feast
Many legs play their best
On tunes at its feast
But is this marriage forever?
Well, answers are sometimes questions
And questions too
Sometimes answers
Death is a friendly enemy
Which breaks the chimney
The cover of life’s light
Even Dum-sor of Ghana
Is a welcomed news
Than its news
