Bus Carrying 50 KNUST Students Involved In An Accident

On Saturday, a bus transporting final-year students from the Department of Civil Engineering at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) was involved in a crash. The incident occurred while the students were on their way from the Obuasi Campus to carry out a field assignment.
According to a report from Voice of Knust, a social media news outlet associated with the university, the collision took place between the KNUST Campride shuttle, which was conveying the students, and an SUV. The crash resulted in significant damage to the front side of the KNUST Campride shuttle, particularly the driver’s side.

Despite the severity of the collision, the report indicated that none of the students sustained serious injuries. However, a video shared by Voice of Knust from the crash scene showed one person on a stretcher, though their identity and condition were not confirmed.
The incident prompted the intervention of the Ghana Police Service and the Ghana National Fire Service, both of which were present at the scene to restore order and provide assistance to the victims. The circumstances surrounding the collision are currently under investigation.

‘All the 50 Civil Engineering Students who were in the KNUST shuttle that was involved in the accident earlier this morning have been checked at the KNUST hospital and cleared to be ok. The students have also been given counseling support” the University posted.
