Christian Atsu: Heartbreaking Photos From Late Black Stars Player’s Funeral Rites
On Friday, March 17, 2023, a befitting burial was held for the late Christian Atsu, a former Newcastle and Chelsea winger, at the State House in Accra.
The funeral was attended by many including his wife, Marie-Claire Rupio, their children, Joshua, Christian, and Rupio, Atsu’s in-laws, President Nana Akufo-Addo, Black Stars players and coaches, and many other sympathizers who came to bid their final goodbyes.

Moreover, President Nana Akufo-Addo, former president John Dramani Mahama, and several other politicians were present to sympathize with Christian Atsu’s family.
Representatives from Atsu’s club, Hatayspor, also came to bid farewell to their late player, whose last goal took them out of the relegation zone in the league.
The ceremony was emotional, as Christian Atsu’s wife, children, and family members were visibly moved by the outpouring of love and support from the attendees.
