The December 2022 GES promotional exams hangs in the air with less possibility of it being organized as 256 teachers who were failed by GES battle it out in the court to find legitimate answers to decisions of the GES to fail them.
This upcoming 2022 GES promotional exams is not likely to take place because 256 teachers have sued the Ghana Education Service (GES) and the Attorney General over their mass failure in the December 2021 promotional examinations.
The teachers took the legal path against the GES seeking the court to set aside the results of the exam, GES to furnish the applicants with their exams scores and scripts, as well as put an injunction on the defendant to prevent them from organizing other exams until the determination of the case.
The 2022 promotional exam scheduled for 19th and 20th December is still not confirmed and GES is yet to provide candidates with their index numbers since the case is still at the court.
Until a ruling is given, teachers preparing for the December 2022 GES promotional exams will have to continue with their preparation with no exam in sight.
Dec. 2022 GES promotional exams and facts of the case against the GES
1. The 256 teachers were all candidates of the said exam at the Ada Training College Centre.
2. Not even 1 of the teachers who sat for the exam at that centre passed the exam.
3. The GES enquiry on the matter found that nothing wrong happened but the applicants believed no investigations were carried out.
4. The 256 candidates requested for their scripts and scores but had not feedback from the GES.
5. The exam pass mark was not made public ahead of the exam but rather candidates were told they have failed the exam.
6. Candidates who were absent, involved in an accident on that date were also failed.
7. The Tema High Court ‘B’ presided over by Justice Emmanuel Ankamah, has set December 12, 2022, for the movement of the application.
Candidates who are preparing for the December 2022 GES promotional exams will have to continue with their preparation in the waiting suspense with no exam in sight until the legal battle comes to an end.
