The Ghana National Council of Private Schools welcomed the news regarding the appointment of Dr. Osei Yaw Adutwum as the incoming Minister of Education.
Dr. Adutwum’s Minister of Education appointment news has been welcomed by teachers in both public and private Pre-Tertiary education and the entire education fraternity in Ghana.
The association through its social media said they were ready to work with Dr. Adutwum in building and shaping education in Ghana.

It is hoped that Dr. Adutwum’s Minister of Education appointment would reposition the ministry to champion educational transformation in the country.
The support for his appointment is due to his background as a professional teacher, unlike his predecessor, who was a medical doctor.

The Bosomtwe Member of Parliament was the prior Deputy Minister for Education in charge of Pre-tertiary Education under then Minister of Education, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh from March 2017 to late December 2020.
