Kwabena Duffuor had his secondary education at Prempeh college in Kumasi.
He furthered his education at the University of Ghana where he studied economics and graduated with a Bsc in Economics.
He then had his post graduate education in Masters in Business Administration in the Syracuse University in the United States of America.
He also received his doctorate in finance from the same University.
Leadership and Political Career
Kwabena Duffuor started his banking career with the Ghana Commercial Bank (GCB) in 1969.
He became the Governor of the Bank of Ghana in 1997 after serving as Deputy Governor for 2 years from 1995 to 1997 during the former President John Jerry Rawlings’ regime.

He was the founder of the UniBank in Ghana but the bank collapsed and was consolidated by the Government.
