ECG mobile App: ECG new and seperate meter application goes paperless on Feb. 1

The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG), effective February 1, 2024, will go paperless with services such as registration and issues of new meters, separate meters, and requests for additional loads by existing and new customers.
According to a press release by the ECG, from February 1st, all customers applying for services such as new service, separate meters, and additional loads, among others, can only do so through the ECG mobile app.
According to management, the introduction of its paperless system means all prospective customers, when applying for services offered by ECG, will have to use the mobile app of ECG to do so.
The ECG mobile app permits customers to upload documents required for each service. Uploading the document via the ECG mobile app will enable ECG to promptly process the service requested by the client and also remove bottled necks associated with clients travelling to the physical office locations of ECG for services.
The paperless ECG new and seperate meter application is all about efficiency however, ECG would need to ensure the systems work efficiently so that those who use it are not frustrated by frequency errors and system failures.
In the ECG press release and announcement dated January 27 and sighted by Ghana Education News, the management of ECG revealed that customers should note that all responses regarding their applications will be communicated to them through the contact telephone numbers provided. ECG advised all customers using the app to enter their correct phone numbers when applying for any service through the mobile application.
“The introduction of paperless systems is part of the digital transformation agenda of ECG as well as ECG’s quest to provide customers with more efficient and hassle-free customer service.

It also directed customers to contact ECG at call centre no. 03020611611, on its WhatsApp platforms, or visit the nearest offices if it becomes necessary for assistance and support.
How to install the Mobile App
The ECG Mobile App can be downloaded on Google Playstore or Apple Store. Once you have downloaded, following the basic app installing process. Ensure that you enter the correct phone number and details required to make the initial set up on your mobile device.

Note that you cannot use the app on a phone that is not a smart mobile device.
