ECG Threatens to Cut Off Parliament Due to Debt
Today, representatives from the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) have made their way to the Parliament grounds, The ECG was to Cut Off Parliament house’s electricity.
The ECG goal is to cut off the Parliament house’s electricity supply from the national grid because of unpaid debt totaling GH₵23 million.For the past year, the business has been heavily pushing revenue mobilisation.

For the past year, the business has been heavily pushing revenue mobilisation. The officials were observed on the property and near a few important power transformers that provide the home with electricity.

If nothing intervenes, Parliament might not have the authority to meet today.
The residence is the most recent victim of the ECG cutting off the energy supply because of GHS480,000 in arrears. Earlier, Accra Academy Senior High School was left in complete darkness.

Power outage: ECG to Accra Academy: Pay 50% of arrears or stay disconnected. “The issue ECG finds itself in is persistent debt,” the statement reads. Additionally, our debt profile varies each month. We therefore need to be more proactive because we have expenses to cover.
