The new craft by hype men of BAWUMIA is to remotely suggest that he is not responsible for the current mess in the economy. That every suggestion(s) by him as Chair of the Economic Mismanagement Team was flatly rejected by Ken Ofori Atta.

This new craft is to ostensibly absorb BAWUMIA from the mess created in the economy and the associated hardships. This is clearly the devil’s work. It is a mind game. It is a craft rooted in deception. Who is Dr. BAWUMIA in NPP politics by way of root and standing?

If you read Dr. Arthur Kennedy’s book, “Chasing the Elephant into the Bush; The Politics of Complacency”, one thing is clear. Dr. BAWUMIA is/was a political experiment by Ken Ofori Atta.
Dr. Arthur Kennedy tells us that BAWUMIA didn’t even have an NPP membership card prior to 2008 and that after Akufo Addo’s initial choice of running mate, Hajia Alima was rejected, Ken Ofori Atta brought Dr. BAWUMIA after angrily suggesting that the NPP Council of Elders were not treating Akufo Addo well.

In fact, eventually, the NPP steering committee had to give Akufo Addo a waiver because the NPP Constitution clearly indicated that to be a running mate, you should be a member for 5yrs.
Special dispensation was given to BAWUMIA to the annoyance of Ama Busia.
She had suggested that Bawumia’s father had betrayed his brother, Prof Busia many years ago.
BAWUMIA remains a political experiment by Ken Ofori Atta.

Dr. BAWUMIA was never in the contemplation of Akufo Addo until Ken brought his name up.
Bawumia’s first constituency is Kyebi. Why is he now trying to run away from Ken Ofori Atta? The men from Kyebi have him as a political experiment. Why is BAWUMIA trying to remotely suggest that he is his own man? Who is he trying to deceive? Self-deception?

Dr. BAWUMIA and his hype men think they are smart, no no. They are not. If indeed BAWUMIA wants us to believe that he is not responsible for the mess, let him show minutes of EMT meetings that he vehemently opposed anything done by Ken. Dr. BAWUMIA was taking ‘fans’ for a supposed success story of the economy when Ken Ofori Atta was taking the $11 billion in Eurobonds to artificially stabilize the Cedi until the various rating agencies downgraded us in Feb 2022 hence the rapid depreciation of the Cedi.
In fact, Osafo Marfo has applauded BAWUMIA relative to his role in the Economic MisManagement Team. What is he talking about now?
Mr Akufo Addo has deliberately rejected, refused or neglected to honor the invitations to participate in the annual Hogbetsotso Za from 2017 till date.
Per the political calculations of BAWUMIA, he needs to start building alliances to the South by pretending that he will be at Hogbetsotso Za.
He knows that Akufo Addo has no election to contest again.
He is trying to distance himself from the arrogance of Akufo Addo.
But the whole BAWUMIA, political experiment is one by current Akyem owners of the NPP.
Akufo Addo believes that the only person who can cover the rot created under his leadership is BAWUMIA.
At least, he is betting on the fact that BAWUMIA will remember how he picked him up from nowhere to the Office of Vice President.
Politics is indeed a complex business.
Lord Baelish in the fictional series, Game of Thrones had this to say, “when you meet an ugly woman in bed, you turn your face and do whatever you want to do”.
Bawumia’s dilemma
He is running away from taking responsibility for the current economic MESS.
Time is not a good friend of man.
